Facebook to unveil a news platform Notify soon.

The Awl recently published a report according to which Facebook Inc. is all set to reveal a standalone application which will cater to real time news on mobile. The service is coined as Notify. The service will function by coming up with alerts and notifications in real time by catering to break news that is being published by third party publishers. This news application will be a direct competitor to Twitter Inc. who recently launched a similar service.

Since a long span of time, there were various rumors speculating regarding the social media behemoth is working on a new app. However, not much information was disclosed about the venture. So, one news has been confirmed that Facebook has joined hands with content owners and publishers like Buzzfeed and Huffington Post who will be accountable to churn in content.

The Awl has shared some images of the Notify app that is running iOS the operating system for Apple. This application will enable them to choose those publishers from whom they wish to get notified in case of breaking news. The notification panel which is available on the Apple products will cater to the headlines in case breaking news is disclosed by the chosen publishers.

It now seems like the companies catering to social media have now understood the magnitude and importance of various features being catered through one consolidated platform. So now what they are actually doing is that they are discriminating them from the ongoing product and are now offering them as completely new products and services. For instance, rumors have been circulating that Facebook is also testing a Video Feed for a new mobile application. This is a great way to test and come up with initiatives for the social media fraternity allowing it to grow to new heights.

Social media will now grow in a different room so that there more opportunities for businesses to bolster in the times to come. Facebook was already catering to publish content by allowing posts from various publishers on the news feed. So now an app solely devoted to news is another glorified venture for the company.

So now the Notify platform is a blessing in disguise for all Facebook users who don’t want their news to be trolled by other irrelevant posts. Twitter on the other hand should beware since now they have competition ready for them that can hinder their existence in the world of published content.

Facebook continues to struggle increasing its revenue from advertisement in untapped markets.

As Facebook Inc struggles to boost its revenue from advertisement in India, the company is advancing by offering added features in the region. The special feature it now offers to advertisers includes free email assistance to provide support and increase their sales.

The population in India is 1.3 billion; largest after China, but users of Facebook in India are just 132 million behind the 193 million in the United States. But at the same time, only 252 million people in India have access to the internet. The social media giant’s revenue in advertisement from India is being hurt and is not up to the mark. On the back of this, the tech giant is focusing more on the region in order to fill the gap in the untapped market, where the company has increased its user base by 22% over the last year.

Other markets in Asia also have a lot of potential; the continent itself saw an approximate increase of 57% year-over-year growth in Facebook usage, according to recent Facebook stock quote stats.

According to analysts quoted by Reuters, Facebook earns 15 cents per users in India each quarter which is relatively higher than the $7-$8 it makes from every user in the US. The tech giant does not disclose revenue in India, but according to Neil Shah, an analyst at Counterpoint Research, a Hong Kong- based technology consulting firm, it is way behind Google Inc which earns $350 million compared to Facebook’s $15 million a quarter.

Moreover, Google entered in India six years before Facebook, so it will take time for the social networking site to catch up. And in order to support its growth, the company has brought the new concept of online ads in India, with the name “click to missed call.”

After clicking the button on the ad, call is made automatically to advertiser, but users hangs up to avoid the charge of the call, then the advertiser calls back with a pre-recorded message.

According to the Counterpoint analyst, Television is dominating the advertising industry in India; he also believes that this will take time for the advertisers to opt Facebook marketing and the tools like messenger for the interaction with their clients to increase sales.

Facebook has also initiated Internet.org in India, a program started in August 2013, and it expected to flourish well over the years according to the circulating news on Facebook growth and revenues.
